Monday Assignment

THERE SHOULD BE NO PHONES OUT WHATSOEVER!!!

Graphic Design 1 (1st period) and Audio/Video 1 (3rd period):
Open Adobe Express (formerly Spark), you’ll create a flyer that illustrates a SMART goal that you have for yourself. It can be personal, school or work related. Good goals are SMART (watch short video):

  • S for specific. A goal should be linked to one activity, thought, or idea.
  • M for measurable. A goal should be something you can track and measure progress toward.
  • A for actionable. There should be clear tasks or actions you can take to make progress toward a goal.
  • R for realistic. A goal should be possible to achieve.
  • T for timely. A goal should fall within a specific time period.

You should start with a blank flyer (but look at templates for ideas) and add the following elements:

  • Text – include your name and a well written smart goal. Consider the font, color, alignment, and effects
  • Graphics – background and icons to design your flyer
  • Color – keep it a 3-5 color scheme.

Save it, download it and email it to me.

Graphic Design 2 (1st-2nd periods) and Audio/Video 2 (2nd-3rd periods):
You don’t have software, so you will do Practice Certification Tests from the Reviews I gave you. This is your last chance, so make the most of your time.

Comp Sci 1 (4th period):
You will do the assignment in TechSmart. My video instruction is on the Zoom page on this site. Make sure you follow along with the video.

Monday

Periods 1 – 4 will meet in Dr. Guess’ room at the end of the hallway. I will be proctoring the Government AP exam. You will have an Adobe Express/Spark assignment to complete, Certification Reviews to complete, or a TechSmart lesson to complete. Testing should end about 11, and I’ll return asap after returning testing materials.

This is the only testing that I will have this week. So classes will run as normal otherwise.

LCISD Digital Media Festival

All of the entries have been turned into schools with top ones advancing to the district level, judges have voted, and now awards are being prepared for our Virtual Awards Show on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30 pm.

Tune in to see if you or your friends won the top prize! Link will be publicized via Twitter and this page on May 10th.

In the meantime, you can view all of this year’s entries here.
P.S. You can view previous years as well.

GDI 1 & 2

You’ll design 2 background/scenes. It can be drawn in Animate or Illustrator. Just make sure to use your layers! You’ll need to animate one or more parts of the background. (Ex. moving clouds, rising sun, bird flying, clock hands moving, etc.)

Your animated story should have a minimum of 2 scenes to tell the story. You’ll need at least one character to animate, but can have more.

You can tell a fable, a nursery rhyme, part of your favorite story, or something you’ve made up yourself. You’re completed story should be at least 30 seconds, no more than 2 minutes.

Final Six Weeks!

Today begins the final six weeks of the school year. However, we only have TWO FULL WEEKS before the barrage of AP testing, STAAR testing, Certification Testing, Senior Final Exams, and Underclassmen Final Exams begin. So you need to make sure you are using your time wisely and getting your work completed and turned in on time!

If you failed a six weeks and want to get credit for it, your deadline is May 4.

Four Day Weekend

Remember that today is the final day of the 5th six weeks. Please check your Skyward to make sure I’ve recorded everything that you’ve completed. If I missed something, please write your name and the assignment on a sticky note and hand it to me to fix.

The 6th Six Weeks will fly by because of testing, so make sure you start it off on the right foot next week!!! Have a happy and safe Easter weekend!
