I’m chaperoning at FBLA State this week. You are expected to complete the assignments for these days – I will NOT accept late work for them. I’ll be checking my email periodically, so feel free to email me with questions.

Blue Review:
The sub will give you a handout to complete on Wednesday and Thursday. Please return it at the end of class for a grade.

Kyle, you must finish editing & publishing the Blue Review episode. I need you to email me where to find the finished file in Sharepoint.

A/V Production:
Wednesday – you’ll need to submit your B Roll Footage List
Thursday – Type your script/narration and turn it in
Friday – Type up your filming plan (where and when you’ll film)

Digital Art & Animation:
You are trying to wrap up your Rotoscope animation. Each day there is a Canvas assignment for you to upload a screenshot of your Timeline showing me the progress of your work.

Thursday

Blue Review – Edit footage you’ve taken for Student Interview and The Circle

Digital Art and Animation – You are working on Rotoscope in Animate. Don’t forget the drawing tablets and make sure your entire group is using the same brush size.

AV Production – Choose your documentary. You need a piece of paper and pen(cil). I need the following answered and turned in today!

  • Full Name
  • What is a documentary film?
  • List a topic to create your documentary. Be specific.
  • What do you want to accomplish with it? Teach about it, persuade viewers, etc???
  • How will you be able to get footage for it? Give me details about what you’ll use and where you’ll get it from. Images, Interviews, B roll footage, footage, etc.
  • What locations do you anticipate needing to film?
  • How many people do you anticipate being in your film?
  • What other details are important to share?

Friday, 2/24/23

3rd & 7th AV Production:

Please go to the Super Bowl Commercial assignment and see updated instructions for exporting the Doritos Logo and putting it in your commercial. Here is the video version of the directions. Be sure to watch the end of Part 1 to change the time.

Part 1:  Animating the Light Rays & Changing
Part 2: Exporting

6th Digital Art & Animation:

You will find the Rotoscope assignment under PAAVTC. Make sure you go through each step thoroughly before moving on to the next. The sub has a camera for the 2 groups that didn’t complete filming. You need to have your idea before getting the camera. You have 10 minutes to film.

Heic Images

If you’re an iPhone user, you’ve probably heard of HEIC files. By default, your iPhone saves your photos as this type of file. Adobe and HEIC don’t play well together and you wind up having to convert your HEIC files to JPG.

Read this article if you want to learn how you can convert them on your phone, or change the default file type so that you don’t have to convert them at all.

If you get stuck having to convert them on your PC, try this site.

January 30 – February 2

You have several assignments that should be worked on this week while I’m at my computer conference. If you have questions about assignments you can email me and I’ll return the email as soon as possible. Put your phones away and get to work!

AV Production: Go to the Premiere page to find your assignments.

  1. #8 Foley Intro – watch the videos on creating and using Foley. In the same assignment/challenge you’ll find directions for syncing audio to create a Subway commercial. The final part of the assignment is the “Turning it in.”
  2. #21 Super Bowl Doritos Commercial – you will write your own 30 second commercial for Doritos. You are not recreating older commercials. Come up with something unique and fun. Type your detailed story idea in a Google Doc or Microsoft Word.
  3. Make sure you’ve completed editing & effects in your Music VIdeo.

Digital Art & Animation: Go to the PAAVTC page to find your assignments.

  1. Complete the Photoshop Animations assignment. At the moment you won’t be able to embed your animated GIF file, so you’ll update your ePortfolio with everything else, then email the 2 GIF files to me until I find a better solution.
  2. You’ll start Animate!
  3. Drawing Tools – There is a video and directions for how to complete this. Make sure to watch the original video so that you know the parts of the program. You’ll export a JPG as your final product to upload.
  4. Timeline & Tweens – there are three parts to this assignment, so make sure you follow each of the videos to complete the work. Each video you’ll add on to the same Animate file.

Dr. Smith’s Class 11/8/22

Happy Election Day Mustangs! Dr. Smith is out today.

You’ll need a pen(cil) and the worksheet that the sub will give you.
You’ll read through this document while you work on the questions. You should write on the worksheet, make sure you put your full name and period number at the top of the worksheet.

You’ll turn in your worksheet at the end of class, regardless of how much you finished.

GDI

You should be finishing your 30 second, two-scene animation by the end of this week, or by Thursday at the end of class if you want to be exempt from my exam.

When you finish…

Design a 2-3 color tshirt design. It can be mainly text – like a favorite quote or saying. Or you can put it some artwork on it. Create this in Illustrator so that it is a vector graphic and has everything in layers .

Typically the design shouldn’t be any larger than 9″ by 9″.
Oh, and it must be school appropriate 🙂
