Progress Reports

This week closes out the progress report period.

1st-3rd periods: Make sure you have a 4th six weeks ePortfolio page and that it is up to date with your assignments. Newest posts go at the top.

4th-6th periods: Look through the TechSmart lessons to ensure you’ve hit the submit button.

Friday 1-21-22

I’m out for Computer Science training today.

Please remember that phones are to be put away (wall pockets, purses, backpacks) at the beginning of each class and until you have completed your work.

Graphic Design – make sure you are following the directions up through uploading your work to your eportfolio.

Audio/Video – no filming today! You will work on an After Effects tutorial. You can choose one from the website, or one of youts.r own choosing. It will be for a grade. So anything else you are working on should be put away and completed when you are finished with After Effects.

CS 1 – you are working on the TechSmart lesson assigned to you today. I’ve recorded instructions for you to follow along with.

Part 1 | Part 2

If time permits, go back to previous lessons to finish them and hit SUBMIT!

3rd Week of 6 Weeks

My classes walked 94.25 miles on Friday for the POW/MIA Remembrance Run. Well done & THANK YOU!

We’re getting close to progress reports, so please make sure you are keeping up with your assignments. If you’ve been out for any reason, please let me know when you’ve made up your work so that I can check it and update your grades.

Friday

It looks like it will be a beautiful day!

As long as the weather holds, and we don’t fall behind, Ms. Samuelson’s classes will be walking the track with our JROTC students in the 5th annual POW/MIA Remembrance Run. See this flyer for more details. Wear comfortable clothing & shoes!

LCISD Digital Media Festival

As a student in AAVTC, you are invited to submit entries into this year’s Digital Media Festival. You can enter up to two projects into each category. Some of them have been assigned as class projects – you can spiff them up and submit them, or you can choose to do something from scratch.

  • View the categories and previous year’s entries.
  • View general guidelines for each category.
  • Download the entry form.
  • (Guidelines & Entry Form can also be found in the Campus Share Drive > Samuelson)

Deadline to submit entries to Ms. Samuelson or Dr. Paul is Thursday, April 7, 2022.

Wednesday, 12/8

I’m at a curriculum writing meeting today but will be back tomorrow.

Phones should be put away in wall pocket – they should be out of sight!

Graphic Design 1 – work on your projects. Remember to update your ePortfolio when you finish.

Graphic Design 2 – take the 3rd practice exam. Tomorrow you will take the actual ACA Photoshop exam.

Audio/Video 1 and 2 – if you have not completed the After Effects intros and posted the rendered videos to your ePortfolio, then you need to complete that. Use StudioBinder to write your screenplay.

Computer Science 1 – you will complete the assignments on Techsmart today. Ask your neighbor for help if you don’t understand. Remember that you get a daily grade for your completion of today’s assignments. Not doing it will result in a zero.

You’ll use StudioBinder to write your screenplays. They have tools that will format all of the different pieces of your screenplay. Make a free account using your school email (username@students.lcisd.org) and password.

You need to have these parts completed (below) and turned in BEFORE you begin writing your full story. Know that you can alter these pieces as you being writing your full story. These are intended to help guide you through the writing process.

    • Character
    • Goal
    • Obstacle
  • Theme – what should the viewers learn
  • 3 Acts
    • Act 1 – inciting incident
