You'll do some research on people and events of a specific heritage/background to celebrate them:
- Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15)
- Native American/American Indian Heritage Month (November)
- African American/Black History Month (February)
- Women's History Month (March)
- Asian Pacific Heritage Month (May)
- Jewish America Heritage Month (May)
- etc.
You can use Photoshop and/or Illustrator for this project.
Start with a new document, size 24 x 18 inches. Your work should fill the width, but you can crop it later to fit your work as necessary.
COLOR
Research your color choices to ensure that they go with the theme of your poster. You should have approximately 3 colors that you use throughout the design, but you can stray from them in the illustrations.
ILLUSTRATE
For each letter in your chosen heritage, you'll illustrate a person or event in that letter. Black (5), Hispanic (8), Women's (6) and so on. You can use photos to help you rotoscope, stipple, or some other method of art.
EXAMPLES
SAVE
Don't forget to crop your poster, but leave a little breathing room around the edges.
Save your file in your native program as: #_lastname_heritage-poster
