Progress Report Deadline

GDI – Make sure your ePortfolio pages are updated. Leave them open and logged in when you leave class so that I can check your work.

A/V – Make sure you check the challenge for all the requirements before you render your video. Then get it uploaded and embedded on your ePortfolio page today.

CS1 – Check Skyward to ensure I didn’t make a typo in your gradebook and that I didn’t miss something that you’ve turned in.

Focus

This is a reminder to put your phones away, get your work done and stay focused to bring up your progress report grades.

Reminders…

This week is the final week of the progress report grading period. You’ll need to have work turned in by Thursday in order for me to grade it and have it in Skyward by my deadline on Friday.

If you were absent Friday, I need you to fill out a CTE Planning Form and turn it in to me – it should take about 10 minutes.

We continue to have a NO CELL PHONE POLICY at all times in this classroom. If you need it charged, plug it in at the wall pocket or by my desk. Ear buds and the like should be removed when you come in.

Next week is SPRING BREAK!

No Cell Phones

If you didn’t see an email from Dr. Williams regarding the use of your cell phone, you can read it here.

In a nutshell – your phone can be used for educational purposes only. Since you have a computer, your phone is not needed for education in this classroom. Your phone should not be out at any time during class, so put them up in the wall pocket. This includes your earbuds/earphones. Put them away.

GDI

This should take 15-20 to complete and turn in.

You’ll create a poster in Adobe Express/Spark that expresses what you VALUE most.

Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. They help us to determine what is important to us. Values describe the personal qualities we choose to embody to guide our actions; the sort of person we want to be; the manner in which we treat ourselves and others, and our interaction with the world around us. They provide the general guidelines for conduct.

Here is the template to begin. Add your values and choose a font that you like. Then you can substitute some of the images to reflect you, then you can update the color scheme to complete it.

CS 1

Put your phones in the wall pocket.
You have a catch up day today.

  1. Take Unit 3 exam if you were absent yesterday.
  2. Fix failing project grades from the 4th six weeks.
  3. Check Skyward for grades from this six weeks and fix zeros/failing projects.
  4. Remember that you only get a 3 day grace period to complete an assignment.

A/V

Put your phones away!

Sit with your groups, you need your storyboard & script.

  1. Table Read with your group – each person needs a copy of the script to read their part. Does the dialogue make sense? Does it flow? Do you need something else?
  2. Check & revise the timings of your storyboard based on your table read. You don’t need to have dialogue throughout the entire 60 seconds. But you need to have specific times for each scene.
  3. You need at least 5 distinctly different camera angles/shots in your commercial. You might need to add/modify scenes to make it happen. Write it on your storyboard. You must have a close-up of the product at some point. You should have a mid-range/long shot to establish the scene.

TUESDAY & Wednesday Assignments

GDI – You will complete a short lesson each day that you will find on YouTube. When you finish it, save it and email the finished file(s) to me. If you finish early you can go to work on the big project you’ve been working on.

Tuesday Assignment
Wednesday Assignment

A/V – You are working on the planning for your Doritos Commercial. Your group will fill out this form and answer the necessary questions before starting the storyboard. You will need to sit with your groups with your phone away – each person should be accountable for a part.

Tuesday – form assignment (person 1 submits)
Wednesday – Storyboard & Script, turn in to sub at the bell finished or not (person 2 creates storyboard, person 3 creates script – but you all work together)

CS 1 – Your assignments are in TechSmart and will be unlocked for each day. You can ask for/offer help to nearby classmates, but should be working on your own in your seat. Remember that work assigned for days when you have a sub should be completed on those days. If you choose not to work, you will get a zero and will not get a chance to make it up.

Thursday – You will take the Unit 3 test!
