Make it Count!
Getting Closer!
Make every second count
You need to have work completed and turned in on Thursday so that I have time to grade it before the Friday deadline.
Don’t forget that Friday is early dismissal, so classes will be shortened.
Drawing for the goodie bags will be this weekend so that I have time to ensure all names/assignments are accounted for.
Friday – End of 6 Weeks
Comp Sci 1 – when you finish today’s assignment you need to check Skyward so that you can:
- Schedule a retest
- Finish incomplete or improperly coded projects
A/V
If you are not filming or editing, you are working on this After Effects tutorial to make a news intro.
- Use LCHS colors
- Blue: #15274b
- Gray: #a0a7ad
- Use LCHS names and mascots
- Use LCHS logos (found in Campus Share Drive)
Monday, February 7
Graphic Design 1 and II: You are working to finish the Elements of Art project today. Once you finish, you should begin working on the Heritage/History Celebration Month Posters that I added to your class page. You can work in Illustrator and/or Photoshop. You’ll have a week to complete this. Illustrations should be solid.
Audio/Video 1 and II: You can’t film today because I am out. So you are going to do a little planning for your next project. If you finish it, you will work on editing the footage that you do have. Kinetic Typography – pick a song (you’ll only use 2-3 minutes of it) that has school appropriate lyrics & message. You have to be able to provide the mp3 of the song, streaming doesn’t work. Find the lyrics online, print them, and highlight the 2-3 minutes that you will animate. Make sure the start and stop points are in logical places.
Computer Science 1: Open and log into TechSmart to follow along with the Instruction module and then complete the Instruction Practices on your own. Anything not completed in class must be completed for HW. Remember that you get a daily grade based on completing your work for the day.
Mustang Time: Welcome to study hall! Please put your phones away in the wall pocket and then have a seat at your assigned workstation (the sub will let you know where). You may use the computers if you need it for school work, but it is not to be used for games, videos, etc. You’ll get a sign-in form where you need to write down what you are working on today in Mustang Time.
Back-Half of the 6 Weeks
You have 3 weeks left in this six weeks – it ends on Friday, February 18.
Reminders:
- Put your phones in the wall pocket until your work is completed!
- Do your assigned work and turn it in on time!
- Use feedback to improve your work if necessary!
- Be creative!
- Tell me (or email me your updated URL) every time you complete an assignment so that I can grade it!
Bribe Bag!
I’ve made bags of goodies (assorted candies & gift cards) to be raffled off at the end of the six weeks. Each time you complete an assignment, thoroughly and on time, you will have your name entered into the raffle. Good luck!
Student Volunteers Needed
Thursday, January 27th – course carnival night from 5:45-8 pm. Need 2 GDI/AV students to film & interview students. Green screen/Red carpet – it’s just to get their attention.
Monday, January 31st – junior high course selection in our auditorium. 1:00 – 2:30 pm.
I need 1 student per course to present their course to the students and be around to answer questions. I’ll prepare something for you to get started.
You must be passing your classes to volunteer. You will be responsible for making up any work you miss from your classes. You can earn volunteer hours for this.
