Rapid Research – File Formats

You are wrapping up your research today – it is due tomorrow!

Make sure you refer to the packet I gave you so that you can use the template to write up your research. You should have a minimum of 3 sources to cite.

Review

Tomorrow will be spent reviewing for the test. We’ll go over the Check for Understandings and answer any questions that you may have.

Unit 2 Assessment

Will be on Wednesday of this week!

Intro to Programming

Unit 3 will start on Thursday!

New Six Weeks

Today is the first day of a new grading period. A fresh start. It’s also a VERY SHORT grading period with only 22 classes (4 weeks) between now and the start of Semester Exams. In that time you will have 9 grades, which means completing about 2 challenges per week.

Here are some reminders that will help you be successful this 6 weeks.

  1. Put your phones in your backpacks or purses. They should not be out at any time!
  2. Use your time wisely and keep your conversations to work related questions and answers.
  3. Complete your assignments in a timely manner.
  4. Attend tutorials if you are absent, fall behind, or need additional help.
  5. Pause, Rewind, Re-watch videos as needed to complete the steps.

5 More Classes Until Thanksgiving Break!

Some have asked what your semester exam will be…

It will be production – completing an assignment using software or tools that you’ve been using. I wouldn’t use an exemption on it unless you have nothing else to use it on, or feel completely lost.

Audio/Video

Pre-Production

  • Write the script & storyboard
  • Plan the production and shots

Production

  • Shoot the video
  • Record the audio

Post-production

  • Import the video and other assets
  • Edit clips
  • Create assembly
  • Add transitions, effects, and layer clips
  • Create text, credits, and basic graphics
  • Add audio (narration, music or sound effects)
  • Export finished project

Take a minute to vote…

for our kicker, Marco Rodriguez!!!

VOTE HERE

He’s currently in first place (as of 7:49 am), so let’s vote throughout the day to keep him there. You can vote as many times as you want – as long as it doesn’t interfere with your work in all of your classes.

ePortfolio Check

I’m doing an ePortfolio check today. Please open your ePortfolio to the current page we’re working on so that I can check it. You can continue working on your projects with it opened in the background.

  1. Graphic Design & Illustration – Photoshop
  2. Audio/Video – 2nd 6 weeks
  3. PAAVTC – Photoshop & Animate
  4. CS – Leave me your Spiral
  5. PIT – HTML Tags

Adobe Capture

Adobe has a free app that you can download to your phone. You can sign in with your LCISD email and choose the “Enterprise” Login option.

Capture has a lot of different tools, but one of the great ones that you can use for this class is to “take a picture” of a color. You want to use a color that you see in the hallway but you don’t know the color code. Focus your camera on the color and it will give you a series of color choices based on that snapshot.

See all that it can do!
