3 Day Weekend

You don’t have school on Monday to honor Dr. Martin Luther King.
I want you to think about this quote and how it applies to you and school. Happy Friday and have a safe weekend!!!

Audio/Video

Please make sure you are returning borrowed cameras and tripods each day so that other classes can use them!!!

Where are we on shooting? Will we be able to wrap up shooting this week? (With the exception of reshoots due to error)

I need scripts and storyboards turned in to me!!!

PAAVTC

We need to work at wrapping up our shooting today.

While you are editing, remember that ALL of your group should be at the editing computer and giving input. You can’t blame someone else for errors – help them out.

I suggest logging into 1 computer to keep the instructions at full screen, and a 2nd computer where the editing will actually take place.

There are folders in the Campus Share Drive > Samuelson with Sound FX and Background Audio. Due to copyright issues, you cannot put just any song as the background music.

You’ll put your final exported video #_lastname of each member of group listed alphabetically_stop-motion.mp4 into the Campus Share Drive > Samuelson_Drop>Stop-Motion when you are done. Let me know when it’s there.

PIT uPDATES

You’re going to spend the first part of class getting your Canvas ePortfolio up-to-date. When you’re finished – move back into the Code.org Lessons.

1st , embed the images into your Canvas ePortfolio from last semester’s lessons when we couldn’t upload them. Each entry should be listed in order: Title of Lesson, Vocabulary, Codes, Screenshots / Links.

2nd This semester’s lessons… You should take screenshots of the following lessons, and add them below the Lesson Title, Vocabulary, and Codes.

  • Lesson 18 – Bubble 10
  • Lesson 19 – Bubble 11
  • Lesson 20 – Bubble 17
  • Lesson 21 – Bubble 17
  • Lesson 22 – Bubble 12

3rd Remember the newest lesson is at the top. Lessons 21 and 22 should also have a Shared Link to your game as well.

4th After looking at the calendar, I realized that my timings were a bit off. You’ll have next week to complete through Lesson 22. After that we’ll take a short break on Code.org to work with the Microsoft Office Suite. We’ll return to Code.org Unit 4 after that.

Grades

The first full week back at school always seems looooong. Remember that you have a 3 day weekend coming up to celebrate MLK Day on Monday. Then the end of the 3rd week will hit us FAST! So make sure you are taking care of your business. I’m updating grades in Skyward today.

Monday reminders

Graphic Design & Illustration – you are working on completing the Storybook Illustrations in Photoshop. Remember that your sketch is just that – A SKETCH. Don’t spend too much time trying to draw perfectly on paper. You need to have the layout, graphic elements, proportion and perspective figured out.

Audio/Video – you should begin filming your short story. Remember that you’ll need to “act” in your classmates films when asked. Make sure that you consider CLOTHING/COSTUMES when filming.

PAAVTC – everyone should be shooting Stop Motion. You should have the shooting completed by Wednesday, and editing completed by Friday to turn in. Remember…

  1. Camera should be secured on the tripod to shoot
  2. Video should match timings on storyboard
  3. Each group member should be contributing to the project
  4. Your phone should be put away
  5. Quit shooting about 10 minutes before class ends to ensure you have time to download photos and delete from camera.
  6. Each day’s photos should be in a separate folder on your desktop
  7. All props and equipment should be cleaned up and put away before your group leaves

Comp Sci – Unit 3 exam today, then continue with Unit 4 lessons.

PIT – Unit 3 should be completed by Friday!

Canvas Eportfolio

I received an email from Canvas last week that the issue with embedding images has been fixed.

As you complete your current work, make sure you add it to your ePortfolio and show it to me. In addition, go back and add any work that you were previously unable to.

Reminders

  1. Be on time!
  2. All phones should be put away by the bell! You can charge it at my desk.
  3. All forms of earbuds and headphones should be put away by the bell.
  4. Begin your work by the bell.
  5. Work hard and don’t be a distraction!
  6. Don’t log off until you are told.

Happy New Year!!!

Hope all of you had a fun and restful vacation, because now it’s time to get to work!

LCISD Digital Media Fair

The date for the Awards Show has not been finalized yet, but is probably in April. The categories have been revised a bit since last year, but there are plenty of opportunities for you to show off your creativity.

  • Graphic Design & Illustration Students – you will submit a minimum of 1 entry
  • Audio/Video Students – you will submit a minimum of 1 entry
  • PAAVTC – you are encouraged to submit an entry, but it is not a requirement.

Countdown

42 class days until Spring Break!!!

98 class days until Summer Break!!!!!!

PAAVTC Fall Exam

You need a pen or pencil!!!

You can use your ePortfolio and Google to help you with your exam, but you cannot use each other.

You may listen to music in your headphones, but you should be able to hear me if I say something.

You want to do as many of the mini-projects as you can to add up to 100 points. But do them well! Save them as the directions say, don’t skip requirements, and make sure your full name is on each image or SWF file.

Turn in your checked paper with your name on it when you are finished. Then sit quietly so that others can finish.

You can see examples here.
