I hope this email finds all of you well. Parents, I\u2019m\nincluding you because your student isn\u2019t always good about checking their\nschool email. Please tell them to look for this please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m assuming that the majority of you have seen updates that\nLCISD will begin online learning starting very soon. Make sure you are checking\nyour email and the Twitter accounts of @LamarCISD, @kaye1332 (principal), @LCHSMustangs,\nand @kasam10s (mine) for updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve set up a Discord Server where you & I can ask and\nanswer questions with\/of the class. You can use your school or personal email\nto join \u2013 it\u2019s up to you. Please join when you get this email and respond to\nthe General thread with your First name & Last initial and let me know how\nyou\u2019re doing. This way I know you got my email and know where to go to ask\nquestions and participate in discussions. Before we start worrying about specific assignments I wanted\nto give you an update regarding the changes to the CSP AP exam. Originally, the exam was weighted as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The AP College Board has decided that they will still award\nAP credit for the class based on what you should be able to complete with all\nof the time that we have had off due to the coronavirus. Therefore, they are\nomitting the sit down MC exam altogether for CSP. The exam will now be\nweighted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The good news about that is that most of you have successfully\ncompleted the Create Performance Task already and still have time to make\nmodifications to it if needed. Those that were having trouble with it, you\nshould be working on yours right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019ve completed it and don\u2019t think you have any\nmodifications to make, then you should work on the video that shows how it\nworks and the written response. You can review all of the necessary information\nby going to the Create \u2013 AP Performance Task Prep Unit. It\u2019s after Unit 5. If\nyou can\u2019t find what you need, you should use Discord to ask questions. Email me\nyour written response when you\u2019ve completed it. You should also upload the\nwritten response and video to your Digital Portfolio but DON\u2019T SUBMIT IT YET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were almost finished with Unit 2 Digital Information\nbefore we left for Spring Break. In order to be fully ready for the Explore\nPerformance Task, we also need to complete Unit 4 Big Data & Privacy (10\nlessons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n For the Explore Task you will be asked to complete a written\nresponse and a digital artifact about a technological innovation. It needs to\nbe current enough that a minimum of 2 of your 3 resources is from June 2019 or\nnewer. Check out the guidelines and start thinking about what you could do. If\nyou want input on your idea \u2013 email it to me instead of using Discord.
